Building in public, one entry at a time

Short notes on what's shipped, newest first. Built by Jake with AI assistance; every word is reviewed by a human T1D before it goes live.

  1. · latest

Appointment prep, a glossary, and this page

The appointment prep builder turns what's been going on lately into a printable sheet of questions for your care team. A 75-term glossary covers the clinic words and the community slang, with an A1C to average glucose translator. Guides now link glossary terms, every page got its own social preview image, and visits are counted without tracking people.

  2. T1DAL gets its name and its wave

The site became T1DAL, with a pixel wave mark drawn by Jake himself. The About page dropped the placeholder and became his actual story.

  3. All 17 guides live, packing builder grown up

Every guide passed human review and fact-checking and went live, seven researched ones joining the first ten. The Traveler Toolkit grew into the trip packing builder, and the app page now shows the honest roadmap, including where AI will and won't be used.

  4. The pixels learned to move

Mode icons were redrawn as proper sprites, and the background pixel field picked up parallax layers and a few small 8-bit moments. All of it sits still when your system asks for reduced motion.

  5. Site launch

T1DAL went live: six audience modes, a learn hub with the first ten guide drafts, the Traveler Toolkit checklist builder, and an email waitlist for the app. Accessibility was a launch feature, not a follow-up.
